I have participated in 100 plus farm debt mediations, representing both the financial institution and the farmer.
I am a conflicts and dispute resolution professional with over 30 years’ experience. Throughout my career I have managed and resolved a broad spectrum of commercial disputes for clients ranging from some of Australia’s major financial institutions to farmers and small business operators.
My background includes 8 years as a as a Managing Partner and Chair of Partners at national commercial law Firm Kemp Strang (now part of Thomas Geer) as well as more then 10 years Board Experience, and over 30 years as a Solicitor in the Supreme Court.
My broad experience includes contractual disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, insolvency, banking, misleading and deceptive conduct and farm debt mediation. I gained specialist expertise in insolvency and restructuring law and have been fortunate to be recognised with industry awards in this area.
I am a strategic thinker who can tackle complex issues and then present them in an engaging, clear and accessible way. A key skill is my ability to drive productive discussion and consensus with diverse groups. In my experience a well-run mediation, where the quality conversations are had and each side fully understands each other, represents the best prospect of resolving a dispute on terms that each party can live with and where the parties can retake control of their lives and businesses. This is why I put my experience and knowledge to work as a mediator.
