I live in Canberra with an office in Sydney. My rural practice includes partnership, estate, finance and other
work as well as farm debt mediation. As a lawyer I acted for farmers and rural financiers in regard to farm debt
issues. I have a affinity with and an understanding of the interests of both parties to a farm debt dispute. I
retired from legal practice to work full time as a mediator and arbitrator in 1999. I am experienced in
commercial and financial issues. I regularly travel to rural areas to mediate, arbitrate and teach. I have been a
mediator (full time) since 1999 and a farm debt mediator since 1994. I have also conducted mediation in
relation to native title and issues involving land management issues.
I have conducted over 2,000 mediations in all areas of commercial and personal conflict. Many of those have
involved Australians living in rural and remote areas.
In the last 4 years I have supported remote indigenous communities (Alawa and Aputula) with conflict
resolution on Country and supported their aspirations and capacity building (with Indigenous Community
Volunteers).
Mediations conducted (to date) have included matters in and from the following areas:
Dubbo, Tamworth, Brisbane and South East Queensland, Orange, Gunnedah, Armidale, Bathurst, Coffs
Harbour, Lismore, Albury, Port Macquarie, Narrabrii, Far North Queensland, Broken Hill, Tweed Heads,
Bundaberg, Central Coast, Alice Springs and Wollongong.
I am willing to travel throughout rural Australia to assist the parties to rural finance and other transactions.
I have trained mediators throughout Australia, in Canada, Hong Kong and Malaysia.
