Donated Fodder Transport Subsidy

A subsidy is available for the cost of transporting donated fodder organised by community groups or other organisations within NSW to a central location for distribution to properties affected by drought and other emergencies.

This program, which was due to close on 30 June 2020, has been extended into the 2020/21 financial year. This program will subsidise 50% of the costs of transporting donated fodder from within NSW up to a maximum of $2.50 per kilometre (plus GST) to a maximum eligible distance of 1,500 kilometres.

Applications for the extended Donated Fodder Transport Subsidy will be open from 1 July 2020 and close 31 December 2020 or until funding is exhausted.

Before arranging transport, the coordinating community group and transport operator must:

  • obtain approval from the RAA prior to transporting the fodder
  • claim the cost of transporting the fodder direct from the RAA
  • submit claim to the RAA together with tax invoices and/or receipts for expenses incurred
  • be made within three months of the RAA's approval and
  • must benefit three or more primary producers

Funding available and possible early closure

The availability of rebates for this program is subject to funds being available. No rebates can be offered beyond the allocated funding. RAA will endeavour, but is not obliged, to provide advance notification of an early closure of the program. An applicant’s unawareness of, or lack of notification by RAA, of an early closure of the program will not be grounds for consideration of applications or invoices submitted after the dates outlined above.
