The Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate (EWIR) is available to eligible primary producers the cost of purchase, delivery and if applicable, the labour cost to engage a person to install water infrastructure for animal welfare needs or drought resilience. The rebate is 25 per cent of costs up to a maximum claim of $25,000 per farm enterprise. You will be required to upload a number of documents during the application process. Please ensure you have a digital copy of the following documents:

  • Local Land Services Rates Notice(s) for all properties where works will be completed
  • Land and Stock Return(s) for all properties where works will be completed
  • Lease Agreement if you are the Lessee of a property where works will be completed
  • Tax Invoices for works that are complete (if applicable)
  • Quotes for works that will be completed (if applicable)
  • Proof of Income (Most recent Taxation Returns for your Farm business. Include individual Taxation Returns for each: Individual Director(s)/Shareholder(s) of all Companies and/or Individual members of a Partnership/ Family Trust)

The online application form has been designed to make the process as simple as possible. You will be required to upload digital copies of supporting documentation (please refer to the 'What you will need section') so please have these ready before commencing your application.

Additional invoices sent via email are unable to be accepted - all invoices must be submitted via the online form to be processed.

You will need:

  • BP reference number
  • ABN number
  • Case number from original application
  • Invoices

Round 1 of the EWIR scheme has received additional funding from the Commonwealth for applications held in the system when the Round 1 funding cap was met last year.

Payments to clients with successful applications from Round 1 of the scheme have now commenced and will continue to be processed in the coming weeks.

If you already have an application with us for the first EWIR scheme (Round 1), you do not need to do anything – we will be in touch with you with the next steps.

If you are looking to access additional funding under this scheme, please submit an application for Round 2 via the process stated above.

If you have difficulty understanding the guidelines or completing the application form you should seek the assistance of your rural/financial counsellor, business advisor, accountant or a trusted family member/friend. If you are unable to access support from your local RFCS or LLS office, you may be able to access additional support to complete your application through the RAA.

Please note that the RAA will need your documents listed in the ‘What you will need’ section before this can be completed. These can be emailed or posted to us and must be received by the RAA prior to your booking.
