The NSW Rural Assistance Authority (RAA) operates within the NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI), which forms part of the Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW).

The RAA is advised by the NSW DPI and DRNSW, as well as industry partners, in regards to animal and plant biosecurity emergencies as well as natural disasters and other emergencies affecting the sector.
