Drought assistance
The NSW Government continues to monitor the impacts of drought across the state to ensure the assistance on offer is appropriate and timely.
On 16 February 2026, the government announced a major expansion of the Drought Ready and Resilient Fund, increasing the maximum amount of a Drought Ready and Resilient Fund Loan to $500,000 and introducing a new Drought Relief Loan of up to $100,000.
The new Drought Relief Loan is designed to be easier to access, with reduced documentation requirements, more flexible security options, and an upfront payment option for faster access to funds.

Drought Ready and Resilient Fund Loan
Low-interest loans of up to $500,000 for a broad range of drought preparedness, management and recovery purchases, activities and services.
Drought Relief Loan
Low-interest loans of up to $100,000, with reduced documentation requirements, flexible security and an upfront payment option, to help farmers recover from the impacts of drought.
