Obtaining RAA consent
In certain situations, you may need to obtain consent from the RAA for changes to your loan agreement, where the RAA has security over the land title. Examples of when RAA consent may be required include:
- mortgaging the property with another government agency or commercial lender, including changes to a Deed of Priority
- subdivision of land, or creation of easements or rights of entry
- agreements related to electrical easements, solar projects, wind or carbon farming.
To request consent, please email a detailed description of your request along with any relevant supporting documents to: securities@raa.nsw.gov.au
Please include your RAA BP number in all correspondence.
If your request relates to a mortgage or caveat, please ensure you include the following information:
- reason for the consent request
- the property involved
- title details (please attach a current title search, if available)
- mortgage or caveat number
- amount and purpose of the proposed new loan
- contact details for the bank or lender involved.
If there is an existing mortgage on the property, a Deed of Priority will be required. You will need to complete the RAA ‘Consent to contact lender’ form, which authorises our team to contact your lender regarding mortgage priority arrangements.
